TKAM neighborhood

my friends mom is like boo radly because a lot of his friends including me are almost afraid to go in the house so we all stay in his garage playing x-box and if his mom sees any of us in the house she will kick you out or make him tell you to go home.
i would have to say that i think jem is more like me at his age because i am the oldest kid in my family and it is hard but just like jem you have to be responsible if they get into a fight and jem has dill come every summer except i go to my friends/cousins house and i typically get along with adults and they all thought i was cute and now they say what happened (ha ha i made a joke).
i think that all of there   behavior would be different and i can tell u that from experience because i don't really have a dad anymore either so i can tell you they would act way different and not so riled up all of the time.

TKAM 10-12

perspective of scout
I have kind of realized that my father atticus is somewhat older than most of the other fathers in Maycomb. And he wears glasses and reads, for instance, instead of hunting and fishing like the other men in town. and i am wondering why i know i am Young still so i don't understand everything but even knowing that it is still really Strange. One day, however a mad dog appears (dog with rabies) wandering down the main street towards our house and  Calpurnia calls my father Atticus who returns home with Heck Tate, the sheriff of our town. Heck brings a rifle and asks my dad to shoot the dog. And To me and Jems  amazement, Atticus did it, hitting the dog with his first shot. but jem told me not to say anything to the other people in the town because jem said he wasn't proud of it and never would be.

TKAM 8-9

perspective: atticus
It is  hard to think that i use to be a kid because of all the weird things these children do. I remember that i use to get into trouble once in a while but it seems to me that they are always getting into trouble
In all my years in maycomb it has never snowed until now.  IT snowed here in maycomb for the first time in many years. maybe if i have time away for my job then i can help them with a snow man. Because this is the first time they have seen snow and i bet they would love it if i spent the day with them.
Scout's loud dreadful scream is still ringing in my head. I have never been so terrified in my life. But when i saw it was snow that caused it i thought i was just seeing things. but then i saw how happy my kids were and i was hoping i wasn't seeing things because they were having so much fun. the kids tried to get as much snow as they could so that they could build a snow man and even took snow out of Ms. Maudie's yard.

we were all at our house and we smelled smoke so we new there was a fire and there was every one on our nabor hood trying to put Ms. Maudie's house out because it was what was on fire and knowing that these houses are very adjacent my son jem said we should start taking our furniture out so if the fire came over to our house it would be ok. but i told him to just take his sister in front of the radlys house because we didn't have any time. and i told them to stay put but when i went over there i didn't think they stayed there because they had a blanket on there backs and they told me that they think it was Nathan radly so then i started to think maybe the radlys were nice people.

TKAM 4-7

perspective of jem
So today my sister comes in to the house to show me the gum she had found in the radly oak tree but what made this so discusting is that they were in her mouth, so i made her spit them out rite away and she went back ther and found some indian pennies. but chewing gum was a big deal because we couldn't afford it. but since it was the end of the school year our good friend dill reterned to maycomb. and we began our game as usual and we also told him about the stuff scout found in the tree.

journal #1 chapters 1-3

Perspective of scout:

My father is a very sucsessful lawer in  maycomb which by the way just happens to be a tired, poor, old town in the hands of the Great Depression. I live with him and my brother and most of the time our house keeper Calpurnia. i never met my mother seeing she died when i was two years old. My brother being four years old then me has memories of our mom but dad doesn't like to talk about it. There is a kid next door and his name is Charles Baker Harris but every body just calls him by his nick name dill. We all act out storys that we have read.  one day dill just got board with that so he tells me and jem that he wants to mess with Boo Radley our neighbor who lives in the scary house down the block. dill convinces us to go to the house with him and then he even convinces my older brother jem to go and touch the house and then he came running back with fear and although no one else saw the shutter open i did. Now that it isn't summer anymore dill gos back to his home town and school is getting ready to start for the first time for me. And i meet my teacher Miss Caroline Fisher (ugh) and she is not one that works well with children. when i started readingmy teacher had noticed that some one had been teaching me how to read already and i told her it was my dad and she told him that he could not teach me any more because she siad she had to teach me. My friend Walter Cunningham was saying that he was hungry and he did not brought a lunch, so Miss Caroline offers him a quarter to buy lunch, telling him that he can pay her back tomorrow but being a very large and poor family i new he would not be able to pay her back so i tried explaining his circumstances but she didn't undersand and so she got very frustrated and smacked my hand very hard with a ruler. At lunch, I rubbed Walter’s nose in the dirt for getting me in trouble, but Jem stoped me and invites Walter to lunch. then when we get back to the house i got really mad at walter and was iritateing him and Calpurnia noticed and she took me into the kitchen and scolded me and she slaps me when i was close to getting back to the dinning room. after that when we got back to school, Miss Caroline becomes terrified when a tiny bug, or “cootie,” crawls out of a boy’s hair. that boys name was Burris Ewell who was from an even poorer family/clan then the Cunningham family/clan.
